don't drink the water!

So this is my giant pet peeve and it was only reiterated today as I saw some foolish person drinking the Fiji Water. You SHOULDN'T be drinking it! I cannot understand why someone is willing to shell out three freaking dollars to drink water just because its from Fiji. IT'S WATER for heaven's sakes. And can I tell you how many fossil fuel calories are used in the obtaining, packaging, shipping, buying, and transporting home this WATER! This is what's causing global warming and polar ice cap melting!
Water comes out of the tap. I am very against bottled water in every form EXCEPT one. Buy A SINGLE water bottle and then refill it with tap water over and over again. There is very very little difference in the "fiji" water and your tap water. Be nice to the environment, STOP drinking Fiji water.

ITS FINALLY HERE!

We have been waiting for years now! We can hardly contain our excitement. We can't even believe that we have IKEA here. It adds one more thing to out list of things to miss in Utah! This place is the most amazing place on Earth (next to Disneyland).

Wonderful Weather

The weather typical of May has finally returned. No more setting record highs when we should be having Spring like weather! Fall and Spring are my favorite times of year! Leisy really loves the Winter. We just want 90 degree weather to wait until July and August - it is way too hot!! The parents went golfing with Pam and Randy and they were freezing! They had to run home to get blankets and hot chocolate. I'm sure they were wishing for 90 degrees. All-in-all today was interesting weather - it was sunny and raining at the same time. I LOVED IT

BLOG CALENDAR!

Okay, so you may have noticed a nice big calendar on the "fammiller" blog. I cannot remember birthdays, anniversaries, or other big event days well at all! I figured that especially since we will be living in Ohio it would be nice to have some way for us to stay up to date on those events. I have therefore created the calendar! For some of you this may be a hassle, just one more thing added to this blog, but for us it will be very helpful. CUT IN HALF!

Just for those that were wondering, Paris has finally recieved her sentence.

"Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said Wednesday.

The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a "special needs housing unit" at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

Hilton will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates
Hilton will get at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, he said".

She's getting off pretty easy if you ask me, but at least she is being held somewhat responsible for her actions. Better than nothing.

Before we die

These are blue footed boobies. They are the coolest birds ever. On our list of things we must do before we die is to see these crazy blue footed creatures! They are found on the Galapagos Islands. Some day we will go and trace the footsteps of Charles Darwin himself. They offer cruises to the Galapagos islands!!!

Like visiting an old friend

I'm re-reading Pride and Prejudice for the third time. It's ridiculous I know but I think it is one of my all time favorites! Leisy can't stand the book or the fact that I think it is remarkable. If anyone has not read it yet I implore you to seek a copy of it TODAY! (Any of Jane Austen's novels will do but this one is especially ingenious) I was able to drag Leisy to see the movie with Keira Knightley when it came out. She won't admit it but she really liked it.

Too Hot

This weekend temperatures have shot up and surpassed record highs! We shouldn't have 90 degree weather in the beginning of May! I'm afraid all the snow on Timp will be gone this weekend. Where's that wonderfully cold weather we had at the family condo outing?!?

The First Year

On Sunday Tyler asked me what my first year of medical school will entail. This is a list of the classes I will be taking:

"I urge all fans and supporters and all that are outraged by injustice to sign this petition," writes Hilton. Paris Hilton has created a petition she wants all of us to sign to get her out of her jail sentence!

This is injustice. This prissy little pink princess drives drunk, then drives on a suspended license, and will most likely get no jail time! And she thinks that she can get the Governor to pardon her sentence! grrrrrrrr.

She will be in an orange jumpsuit, and everything else, the accoutrement, the makeup, is an absolute minimum," said Sgt. Steve Whitmore of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

Hilton's cell phone, her crystal-encrusted trademark, will be banned as well. We are so excited!

She was arrested a few months back for drunk driving and her license was suspended for a short time. She was caught driving while it was still suspended. She's been sentenced to 45 days in the county jail. What an idiot! ANYBODY and EVERYBODY would recognize her driving! and EVERYBODY knew she had her license suspended!! That's why we absolutely love Paris Hilton. My guess is that she doesn't spend a day in jail. One can only hope she has to!

This is the second of my morbid posts for the day. This is absolutely incredible. A zookeeper in Asia was trying to remove a tranquilizer dart from this croc when it grabbed his arm and RIPPED it out of its socket. They got the arm back and sewed it on to the man with few complications! Modern science miracles astound me. What a great story this guy has now!!

I, for some reason, am interested in morbid pictures, things, and activities. The past two days at school we have been dissecting pigs. These little fetal pigs are pretty nasty and are great fun to cut apart! My students had one heck of a time. I almost peed my pants repeatedly, actually leaked just a little bit one class period. I had girls in sobbing convulsions because they felt sorry for the pigs! I also had boys shaking in terror and dry heaving. I couldn't contain the laughter and had quite the endorphin filled two days! Luckily I had Kent there both days all day to help cut em up! He could at least maintain composure when kids freaked out. He does however enjoy tormenting them as much as I do! When one of my hysteric girls finally calmed down enough to just look at the little pig fetus, he walked up, took it by the mouth, and made it say "not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin"! It actually had a hairy chin too! :)
