the dum-dum factory!!

This week we went to the dum-dum factory in Bryan, Ohio to take a tour!  and it just so happened that Kent is working in Bryan on an 'away' rotation (it's about an hour away) so he got to come and join us.
As soon as you drive up to the factory you can smell the flavor of the day. I think yesterday was cotton candy. Who knew that the factory in Bryan makes 8 BILLION dum-dums per YEAR?!  that's INSANE!  and they make those nasty nasty circus peanuts.  Does anybody still eat those?!  ugh.
we took a tour on a trolley through part of the factory and the kiddos enjoyed laughing and giggling.

We couldn't take flash photography so I got a few blurry pictures.  The kiddos had a lot of fun and so did we.

The kids mostly loved the all you can eat free dum dums.  The lady said I could have as many as I wanted. I filled my purse :)
Here's a picture of our clown car. We carpooled with the stewarts and the kiddos were in heaven.

Wow, I didn't know such a place even existed in Ohio...I've actually made a few dum-dums myself..but then they grew up and moved away. (oops..just kidding guys!) I saw some pastel peanuts just the other day..I rank them with peeps..about the only sugar thing I don't like! Have a good Easter!

Livvy absolutely ADORES circus peanuts! We went to Disneyland once and she wanted those as her souvenir. I had to object. I mean $0.99 at walmart vs $3.50 at Disneyland? She got a princess toy instead.

I did this tour on P-day when I was a missionary. The elders in my district taught one of the Spangler families who own it...the wife was super friendly and nice. We were all pretty naive thinking we'd baptize them into the Church.

Orange peanuts...gag! Those things are so nasty even the thought of them makes my stomach turn. And for the record, I read your Australia posts, every last one of them! Sorry for the commenting of them. I normally read your blog on my phone but its too hard to comment on that so I would think of a good one to write the next day and then always forgot! But it sounds like you guys had a spectacular time! I'm so glad you loved Australia as much as we did!
