Zeb loves to sit up on top of his dresser and watch the snow fall. I am so glad that he loves it! he tromps through it in his snow boots every time we get out of the car (which is actually really annoying because he's really slow and gets really wet) but I love that he loves it. It has made me think a lot about the attitudes that I inadvertently (or often times intentionally ) teach my kids. I think most of life is based on attitude and choices we make and I hope to be able to teach my children to be positive and happy- no matter what comes their way.
I'm sure I've taught my kids to really dislike a lot of stuff- but snow is not one of them :)
And then there's Ike and his strange clothes habits. I am certain that I haven't taught him to be so particular. Many days he insists on wearing FOUR pairs of superhero undies over his diapers.
There's also an obsession with character clothes. No offense to lovers of these clothes- but I am not a huge fan of shoes/pants/shirts, etc. covered in winnie the poohs and sesame steet characters. Ike LOVES them. I have caved and gotten him a few at yard sales- but I didn't think he'd be so obsessed. He giggles and smiles every time he sees the 'Wall-E' shirt (we've never even seen the movie). Then, of course, he's reminded of his elmo pants and he wants them on together- with his shirt tucked in. We don't go out of the house like this.

hahahaha! Ike is so cute! I just love seeing these little personalities come out! (btw - I don't like character cloths either...)
And I totally agree with you - we actually learn a lot about ourselves when we listen to our kids! Our pediatrician once told me "Calm parents = calm kids!"
So true!! Thanks for the reminder. I'd like to use the excuse that having a good attitude is easier said than done .... but it really isn't. It's amazing how much happier my kids are when I am a little more chill and happy. (and - "chill" is MUCH more easy said than done ... hahahahaha)!
I love Ike's clothing choices. SO cute and funny! Krystal used to wear several pairs of undees over her diaper ... and they were AARON'S undees since I hadn't stared potty training her yet (so, we had no girlie underoos). It was so funny. Loved the laugh seeing Ike's picture with all the undees on!
I hate character stuff too. But we all cave at some point for some thing.
I love the pic of Zeb looking out the window!
And Sam just got some Star Wars pjs...I hate them. At least their pjs though! But he asks every morning if he can wear them outside or to school. Yesterday I caved and he wore them to Wal-Mart...at least it was Wal Mart, right?
Your kiddos are so cute, they look good in anything..You lived, survived and loved Toledo..if you can do that then you have the most positive attitude of anyone I've ever met, even those born and raised in Toledo!
I really love the crazy outfits my kids put together. Katie especially is great at donning really outlandish clothing. So funny! I guess I just get a kick out of it because it means they don't care what anybody else thinks!
Love the underwear...so he's interested in using the toilet? Griff told us he pooped the other day and it was pretty darn cute.
We are SO SO excited for you to visit. Come and stay with us for sure! We'll have to have a good noisy night all of us together! Maybe we can get the Starkeys to come too!
Oh my - what a cutie! I think it is so funny the things that kids like and become obsessed about. Like lint rollers (one of Jett's), or characters on clothes...gotta love it!
