partial tour of our place!

After a month of living here- I'm finally posting some pictures of our place!  I don't like unpacking, decorating, or organizing- so this has been a long month.  Any decorating ideas are more than welcome. seriously.  Most of these areas are still quite bare as far as walls and decor go- and I'm totally fine with the simple clean look - but if you have any great ideas- please chime in!

The lighting for the pictures isn't perfect- but I figured a nice sunday while everyone is napping was the perfect time to take pictures.

My favorite part of the house!  the kitchen!  after our crazy small galley kitchen in toledo- I LOVE having so much room to move around! and an island where I can prepare food!!!  The walls aren't quite as bright yellow as they appear- but I love the color in here.

Here's the view from the front door/hallway.
The inside garage door opens right into the kitchen.  And also right there at the garage entrance is our patriotic main floor bathroom.  What should I put right above the toilet?
The dining room is also bare.  Suggestions?!?!  It's right off the kitchen and connects to the living room.  The walls are a light tan.  We eat lunch and breakfast at the bar- but dinner here.
I got this rug from a friend in Toledo and I love it!  The background here is our living room and is TOTALLY empty for now.
Here's the view from the living room to the entryway.  It's painted gray and I LOVE it.
And finally- the view up the stairs!  Zeb tells me that by the time he gets to the top every day- his muscles are really tired.

I'll get pics of the family room, kids room, toy room, our room, basement, and study soon.  I can't believe we live in a house and that it's so wonderful!  We really do love it and every thing has worked out perfectly. We are so blessed to have found such a great place for such a great price in the perfect neighborhood!

@ eighteen25.blogspot.com they have subway art that you can download and print super cheap...they just did one for the 4th of july that says "I pledge allegiance..." You could print that and put it in a yard sale frame and be done for under 10 bucks! Our living room in our Toledo house was bare for at least a year after we moved in so Tanner would go in there and spin. The whole time we lived in that house (6 years) that room was the spinning room!
Your house is CUTE.

Wow, that house is amazing!!! What a find! I love your table and rug in the dining room. Sorry I have no suggestions for you though since I'm in the same boat! I like the clean look too (our front room is currently bare as well) but I also like that 'lived in' look where it actually starts to feel like a home. We are currently trying to get there by searching for decorative pieces at yard sales. And I know how you and Laney like yard sales, so I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding things to decorate with! :)

It looks quite cozy...and I hear you about the unpacking - 6 months later and I still have stacks of boxes in the basement. Ugh. Be proud of all unpacking and organizing you've done!

I have a big white star that would look awesome over the toilet..it would remind you of us..the STARkeys...I'm not so sensitive that I would care if a reminder of us was over your toilet. The house looks so cute and perfect for you! Can't wait to see the rest!

I think you should do white shams in the ktichen....if you do any other color it needs to be a clean crisp blue or a cool pattern (an amy butler pattern)

that was me.

I think you should do a giant framed world map in the dining room. With pins of all the places you've been and hope to go...that way it's a great conversation starter for dinner parties too.

Dang it Leisy, if we were closer I would give you my white medicine cabinet that went above our toilet because I have no use for it here and i think it would look great in your bathroom. I am having a blue day missing the girls in Toledo so I had to do some blog looking. I love your new place We have a lot of the same floor plan and the same kind of floor! I need you here to find fun things to do in mesquite, so get down here would you?!

I love the rug in the dinning room. You need a little color I can't tell if it's gray or a blue? but I think if you stuck with those colors in that room-It would be very nice.

I think you should do big frames with faces of your kids in black and white. Maybe white frames? I love pictures!

I would put a wreath in the bathroom. Like, a tan looking one. Not a holiday or red color. (if you can see what I'm trying to say)

Pictures of the kids in the kitchen holding food, eating food, you making food.

I LOVE gray!! Of coarse just a bunch of pictures of family in that hallway. If you have the Proclamation of the Family place on the wall by the kitchen.

Dining room, a cute long curtain with some paintings. You can find really cheap and cool ones at TJ MAXX, Target and so forth.

Leisy, your place looks great. I am glad that you are enjoying spreading out and a backyard. The picture with the clothes and the boys in the pool is great. Ellie loves to look at your blog and she wonders why Zeb is having so much fun without her. She also was surprised that you had moved even though we had been talking about it for awhile. I guess she didn't believe me.

Your house is so nice! I love it! and i'm glad someone besides me has several completely empty rooms. I still have yet to hang a single thing on my walls.
