grrrr. (a boring post on my morning's events)

My OB told me she didn't think that I should run anymore because she is afraid that I am going to fall due to the disruption in my balance caused by my expanding mid section. I love my OB and respect her greatly- but I have no intention of stopping running. It's one of the things that keeps me sane and happy. Not to mention- it's my back and behind that seem to get bigger than anything else- so if worst comes to worst I figured I'd just fall backwards due to any impending balance problems. Today, however, I fell forward. HARD. And it did NOT happen on my run. After my morning jog and some swinging at the park I was headed back to the car to go home. Zeb was not super pleased to be ripped away from the playground and was writhing around in his stroller. As I picked him up to make the transfer to his carseat I stumbled on something and went crashing on to the pavement. It hurt ridiculously bad. Zeb was wailing and I nearly cussed (and wailed a little bit too). I couldn't put my hands forward to catch myself because I was holding Zeb so I absorbed the weight of me and my 1.5 children all on my knee. It swelled instantly to four times its size. It was disgusting really and it looked like I'd cracked my kneecap in two. Luckily you can see now (as pictured in the hideous knee shot [let's face it, you can't get a good shot of this part of your body in this position]) that the swelling has gone down considerably to a minor bump. I think I'm fine -I just can't kneel. I do wish I'd gotten an "immediately after" shot- it was gruesome.

Ouch!!! I am so sorry that you fell! That is the worst! (But I WOULD have cussed... so good for you!)

I hope you get feeling better right away! And I say keep on running! She really just has to say that to cover her hiney.

Oh! And I think we would all like to see that expanding midsection sometime!!

Leisy, I'm sooo sorry! Did it happen while I was there? Why didn't you call for help?! I feel awful for you. You can't be left alone at the park anymore, or run. jk Can you run?

yea! You are having another one...congrats. Wow! I am really behind in blogging. Do be careful running, don't want to do any permanent damage you'll regret...do I sound like your mother yet?

Oooooooh - ouchee! So sorry ... Mom's just need a couple of extra pairs of arms to be able to juggle it all! I'm glad the swelling has gone down ... take it easy for a day or two, okay? Hope it's feeling better soon.

Oh man! Didn't we guess that you would fall but it wouldn't be running. See walking is more dangerous than running. I think you are safer with running and having Zeb in the stroller. I hope your knee feels better really really soon!

I am sorry. I hope your knee is okay. Get feeling better soon. So you can take Zeb trick or treating.

ouchies! I think holding onto the stroller will help you avoid falling anyhow. I told my dr. that there was no way I'd quit going to my weight lifting class. it's just too hard to haul my kids around if I skip it. Tell me that pic of your knee is upside down!
