a neeww caaaar! -just pretend it's rod roddy's voice saying it.

Hoooooooooooooooooray!

Zeb was all smiles and in celebration mode this weekend. We've always been a one car family and been rather content in our environmental friendliness. We also knew becoming a two car family would be an inevitable development with the progress of Kent's schooling. Our plan has always been to get car numero dos before Kent started his third year of school (which includes hospital rotations at insane hours, rotations in rural areas around Ohio, and military rotations all over the country). We've been on the hunt for awhile now trying to gage the market, find out what best fit our needs, and just checking out deals so that we were prepared and didn't have to jump into a purchase we weren't sure about due to necessity. Kent doesn't start his third year for another ten months but we stumbled upon the perfect car. With me teaching seminary in the morning, winter approaching, Kent having to be to church an hour earlier than us (mid Zeb's nap), and a plethora of other factors we decided to take the plunge.

It's a 2002 Honda Civic LX. The only downside to the car is that every time I see it, it makes me think that my mom is here!

We've now got a Toyota and Honda- not the most popular car choices here in middle America!

We are terribly excited and pretty nervous! Big life changes always make me a little anxious.

Wow, very impressive. It looks brand new! Are you sure it's an '02? Zeb looks like he's growing a lot. He's getting long legs.
Glad you guys are so good at getting in on good deals.

Zeb would be a perfect Price is Right model or contestant.
Congrats on the new car! It really did change my life when we became a two-car fam once again. It's sooo nice not to leave Erik stranded or to have to feel like a taxi.

Congrats!! The car looks really nice and I love the picture of Zeb on the car. With that much enthusiasm he could do car commercials.

hello from Liberec, Czech Republic. Congrats on the car and glad to hear you're thinking of me.

We're enjoying our little getaway too. I think of you and Laney as I walk to streets and hear the people talking. I haven't heard ANY English on the streets--this town is out of the way of the American tourist path.

Food is good and your dad is on the bed snoring away. We'll send pix or post and I'll buy Zebber a Czech soverniy.

a 2 car family, what an achievement. We are still a 1 car family.
One day I am sure we will have to take the big plunge, but like you are trying to reason why we need it and justify when we will eventually buy it.
Drive safely

well it is sad to go from the simpler (sometimes) days of one car-ness. We did right before we moved from Ohio to Kentucky. But we've LOVED LOVED LOVED our honda! congrats on the new addition!

Not to put down middle America, but you'll probably spend less on maintaining these two cars than if you bought a Ford or Chevy. Sorry, but it's true. We have a Toyota and Honda and love them both and the mpg!

I love it! It looks beautiful and the best thing is that it will continue to look beautiful for a very long time. That is just the life of a Civic. They never look dated.
