this is the third apple item that I have tried out for our apple cooking item. So far the apple gravy has been best. This is Dutch Apple Pie. It ended up pretty tasty. Kent made the crust for me. I don't love making pies from scratch...it takes way to much time and effort. And makes far too large of a mess to be worth it! The crumble on top is the best part. If any of you have any good apple recipes, I NEED one! Send them my way :)

so here is a recipe for austrian apple bread. I would do it without the rum raisins, and if you don't have a vanilla bean, look online for the substitute. anyway, it is supposed to be really good.
1/3 cup Rum soaked Raisins (3T rum)
1cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 tsp Baking Powder
8 tbsp soft Butter
1cup Confectioners’ Sugar
1 Vanilla Bean, scraped
3 Eggs
2 Apples
Directions:
-Peel, core and cut each apple into 12 wedges.
-Sift flour and baking powder.
-Cream butter, sugar and vanilla bean seeds.
-Add eggs to light and fluffy butter one by one, mixing until blended.
-Add flour on low speed mix until fully incorporated.
-Spoon half the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth.
-Arrange half the apples over the batter.
-Cover the apples with the remaining batter and smooth.
-Arrange the remaining apples in an attractive pattern on the top and press into the batter.
-Bake at 350F until golden brown and a pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-Cool completely and remove from pan.
-Glaze with apricot glaze.
