taking pictures of other people...

I didn't have time to take a single picture of my kiddos today- so I'll have to post pictures of other people's kids.  This daily posting thing may be harder than I thought!!

Over the past few weeks I have been REALLY busy with my camera!  I've started taking family pictures and kid pictures of friends as a hobby the past year- and since it's fall in Ohio- and gorgeous- I've been doing A LOT!

I'm quite certain I could never go in to photography 'professionally'.  there is SO much to learn.  Photography is so technical and detail oriented- and neither of those words describe me AT ALL!!   every time I finish a shoot- I worry about doing things wrong and not getting great pictures.  I do like a lot of the pictures I take- but I'm not sure the stress of dealing with 'real' paying clients is worth my anxiety!  I don't mind doing it for friends because I can be more laid back and not worry so much about expectations- but strangers is an entirely different story.

Here are just a few of the pictures I've taken the past couple of weeks!

Photography is a GREAT hobby.  I really  do enjoy creating a finished product that I'm proud of.  I really love making other people happy, too!  And having some paying clients allows it to pay for itself which is even better.  Because camera equipment is EXPENSIVE!

here's a link to my facebook photog page where you can see some of the other pics :) I'm not completely confident in my work- but I guess that's just motivation to get better.

I totally agree, paying customers are WAY more stressful than doing fun pics for friends. And I don't know about you, but editing takes me forever to get done. I I think your pics are turning out great though! Your always your worst critic, but your doing awesome!

You have SUCH a great eye for details! So - I think that (professional photography) is totally you. And - you're fun and easy going so it helps people to relax and be more natural. You have so much ambition and willingness to work hard to learn something and get it right - your pics are amazing - and you are getting better and better! I can't EVEN begin to tell you how many compliments I get for our family picture that you took!
