President Henry B. Eyring may have gotten his B.S. in phisics, but he was a business teacher for his career at Stanford. He actually didn't like science. His father was the scientist. Presicent Erying never did anything with science after he graduated from the U where his father taught physics.

I'm looking forward to reading that talk. Thanks for sharing. One of my favorites of his was in an Ensign that I read on my mission about families. He's so simple, yet so profound.

If you are referring to the fact the he struggled with science and didn't like it as much as his father, it seems like a pretty broad statement about one's attitude toward a field of study. I can't imagine suffering through a physics (not phisics) degree without any sort of desire for understanding of science. Just because someone chooses not to practice what they study doesn't mean that they don't like it. By this token, I guess Gandhi didn't like law because he didn't practice it after leaving Britain. One doesn't have to practice something to like it. This world would be pretty boring if we only like what we practiced. I think he likes science, and though he may not have practiced it, that certainly doesn't equate to not liking it.

I agree with Taylor. I would get a DEGREE in something I didn't enjoy. Seems illogical, does it not?

Yes, Michelle - remember the old Eyring Science center at BYU? That's the family he's from. I love his talks and look forward to reading the one you mention.

I was going to criticize the anonymous post, but I think that has been done sufficiently. I think what needs to be said is that the only people reading this blog (no offense Millers) are people who know the Millers, which means that you have an account but chose not to display your real name. Friends don't post criticisms (except this one, of course) on their friends' blogs, especially without a spell checker.

Anonymous posts need to go (especially if you feel the need to be the leading authority on everything!) - How about you get some courage and post your name?!
